4.5.2. Attenuation distortion in the voice band:

4.5.2.1. Description:

The variation of insertion loss with frequency shall be measured using the

configuration in Figure 2. The defined ZHP-r will be attached to the Line port of the

filter. The increase in attenuation distortion, relative to the 1004 Hz insertion loss,

caused by the POTS filter with the ZHP-r ( or modem ) load.

4.5.2.2. Test configuration:

Figure 2. defines the test configuration and the value of the test components that

shall be used for transmission measurement in the voice band for the remote

POTS filter.

Note :

1. ZHP-r＝the impedance presented to the POTS connection by an ATU-R.

2. ZL＝real impedance 600 Ω.

3. Test apparatus: Function generator HP 33120A or equivalent，Readout

oscilloscope HP 54621A or equivalent.
