5.6 Serial Interface

The µPD75116(A) incorporates the clock synchronous

8-bit serial interface. The serial interface has the follow-

ing two modes.

• Operation stop mode

• 3-wire serial I/O mode (MSB/LSB top switching

possible)

Connection with the µPD75116(A) and the 75X series,

78K series and various I/O devices is possible in the 3-

wire serial I/O mode.
