8.3 Real-Time Output Port

The real-time output port outputs the data stored in the buffer in synchronization with the match interrupt of timer/

counter 1 or an external interrupt. As a result, it can output pulses without jitter.

Therefore, this port is ideal for applications where different patterns are output at different intervals (such as open

loop control of a stepper motor).

The real-time output port consists mainly of port 0 and the port 0 buffer registers (P0H and P0L) as shown in Figure

8-5.
